Where to Begin

I know it's been forever since I posted. So long in fact that no one may be checking this blog anymore. Oh well, I know eventually someone will check. And, for those who can remember the post before this, my house is definitely not in the pristine condition it should be since my excuse for not blogging was cleaning our abode. It is, however, clean and getting cleaner and more organized as time goes on. I actually did get my scrapbook corner built and organized. I'm soooo excited about that one. We've also got some of our vegetable garden in and I've been working on my first flower garden. So just in case you were wondering I have been doing something--just not blogging.

And one more note. I know there are a few of you who are always wondering if another baby is on the way and think maybe I'm not blogging because I'm sick or tired or both. So the answer to that question is, no a baby is not on the way. Russ and I would love to have another one but that is out of our hands. We are so thankful for the way the Lord has blessed us with each other and then with William. And I must say every month I think to myself, "God proves himself to be God in so many ways, praise his name."

And now, finally, I'll start posting again. A few each day till I get all our current pictures organized.

Thanks for stopping by.

I'm Standing!

This is a picture of William the very first time he pulled up to his feet. I was so excited to be able to get a picture. He keeps trying to do it more and more but there are not many things he feels comfortable pulling up on.

Our First Real Snow

It's been about 2 weeks since the momentous event happened, but I can now testify that we actually do get significant snow falls in NC. It snowed over 3 inches!! Russ got to stay home due to the clinic being shut down for the day, and the new governor declared a state of emergency due to the plethora of accidents on I-95 caused by--the 3 inches of snow of course.

As a side note, the curtains you see in this picture are the ones that took me forever to make and figure out how to hang. The reason it took so long to figure out how to hang them, other than I'm horrible at those kinds of things, is because when Russ had the blinds installed he told the company that did it that he would never have curtains.

William really didn't like the feel of the snow at all. Tooo cold! Especially when Mommy doesn't have any gloves for his little hands.

This is what our yard looked like the very next day.

Oh No It's the Elephant!

I find the following video to be hilarious for several reasons. One of which is that it encapsulates an experience that I'm sure will be played out over and over in the course of our lives as parents. We will think we have discovered the perfect toy, activity, book, event, friend, etc. and eagerly bring William in on the find, only to discover that far from finding it to be a perfect fit our son finds it to be completely the opposite. And, despite seeking to understand, we will be utterly baffled by his insistence to defy all reason, logic, common sense…

We, that is Russ and I, were so excited to get this toy! I had been looking for some fun toys for William and came across this one. It seemed great in that it had a lot of things to hold his interest and it also helped develop some hand eye coordination. I’d been anxiously awaiting this toy since I’d ordered it and it came on the perfect day-Saturday, so even Russ could get in on the fun.

After we took the elephant head off, he really liked. He plays with it quite a lot and he especially likes the balls, so all is not lost.
