Me for the past 10 Days

 I had a total of 4 Morton Neuromas, two in each foot.  So, after trying to go the non-surgical route by getting saline injections for 5 months, my doctor agreed to operate on both feet at once.  And here I sit with 2 incisions in the balls of each foot.  I've got about 4 days left before the stitches come out.

 

 

Rockport Family Camp

The whole Dickmann side of the family stayed in one cabin (That is one room with 30 bunk beds, lots of bugs, dirt, dust, mold) at this old fashioned Bible Camp hosted by Rockport Baptist.  William loved it so much he talked about it all year and we plan to make it an annual event.  (We as in William, Katie and I.  Russ would have nothing of it.

Results of the Routine

If there is one thing marriage and children have taught me, or I should say, God has taught me through marriage and children, is that there is no certainty, no surety, no routine apart from our sovereign Lord.  He is the only certainty.  He is where we find our security.  And the one thing to remember is that this one unchangeable, all powerful, certainty is all Good.  The goodness of God, it is not a clique; it is not a sweet saying to put on plaque.  It is a truth to be apprehended by faith and to be believed at all costs.  It is a truth that the Devil, the world, and our flesh will seek to cast doubt upon at every turn.  We can say we believe in a sovereign God, but if sovereign and not good what comfort does that bring, what strength does that provide?

Admitted with 105 degree fever 1 week after a HIB vaccine.

After an MRI and consultations with lots of specialists we found it was a most likely a staph infection that had traveled almost, but not quite, to his thigh bone from the sight of the injection.

IV antibiotics for 3 weeks administered through a PIC line was prescribed.

 

 

7 days into the treatment his fever spiked again and we discovered he was allergic to the Vanc.

This is when we discovered Angry Birds.

Expecting a Baby Girl

Yes, I know it’s been over a year since I posted, but here I am back again.  It may be yet another year until I post again but hopefully not.  A lot has happened this year.   In June we finally made a permanent move from NC to TN.  We bought a house here in TN even though the one in NC still has not sold.

In January of this year we learned I was expecting and we are now less than a week away from welcoming our daughter into this world.  My C-section is scheduled for the morning of September 22.  The Lord has protected me from the pre-eclampsia I had with William, and my average blood pressure throughout this pregnancy has been 110/70.  This time around I have a complete placenta previa but, by the mercy of the Lord, I have had no hemorrhaging much to the surprise of my OB who expected me to begin to have problems with bleeding at 28 or 30 weeks.   I’ll be 37 weeks this coming Wednesday.

Last week the Dr. did put me on bed rest after I was hospitalized for slight spotting.  He kept me for observation overnight and as everything appeared to be going well sent me home to rest, hence, the updated blog.  If you keep scrolling down, you’ll see pics all the way back from last year and then hopefully up through today.  We will see how far I get.

Tennessee

Many of you know this by now, but our family is in the process of moving to Tennessee. Russ took a job at Touchstone Wireless and has been working there since June 28. We have a one bedroom apartment where Russ stays during the week. Sometimes William and I are there and sometime we are here in NC. We’re all praying our house sells quickly so we can be together full time again. These are pictures I took the first time we went to visit the area to see if the Lord might be leading us there.
